Accessiblity
Welcome to the National Aquatic Centre, we hope your visit will be an enjoyable experience. The following are some of the features which may be of particular interest to our visitors with accessibility requirements.
AquaZone - Leisure Pool
There are wheelchair ramps built into the design of the leisure pool for access to the various areas. Pool depth starts at 0 depth and progresses to 1.5 metres.
International Competition Pool
A wheelchair hoist is available for the use of customers; this hoist can be moved to different sections of the pool with prior notice given. The floor depth in this pool can be changed, please check signage prior to swimming.
ToneZone - Gymnasium
New Pulse Fitness equipment installed in January 2009 including15 types of IFI (the Inclusive Fitness Initiative) accredited equipment. Also, new floor layouts adhering to the highest accessibility standards. ToneZone is accessible from the dressing rooms by a lift.
Health Suite
The health suite is open to full members. Steam & Sauna are fully accessible. The Jacuzzi may suit some users. Staff will design a programme suitable for you. Fitness classes can be adapted to suit your needs.
Lifts
Lifts are located at the following points:
- In the reception area of the main entrance for access to the stadium seating in the International competition Pool
- In the reception area of the Health Suite for access to the gym.
- In the leisure pool tower for access to the slides
Toilets
Toilets are located in the following areas:
- Café
- Stadium seating on both sides
- Health suite ladies & gents changing areas
- Ladies and male group changing area – please ask for key at reception
- Leisure pool, two at the family changing area in front of the pirate ship – please ask for key at reception.
Showers
Accessible showers are located in the following areas:
- AquaZone Leisure Pool – family changing rooms
- AquaZone Leisure Pool - toilets in front of the pirate ship – please ask for key at reception.
- In the Members ladies and gents changing areas
- In the ladies and male group changing area - please ask for key at reception.
A changing areas for special needs customers only, incorporating benches and handrails, is available at the rear of the International competition Pool
Seating
Wheelchair bays have been allocated for viewing the competition pool, located in the stadium.
General Information
We operate a band system for customers who would like an extra eye kept on them during their visit. Please ask reception for details.
Wheelchair available for customers if required, shower chair also available, enquire at reception.
The Centre has a LOOP system in reception specifically for people who require the assistance of a hearing aid. Group rates are available for special needs groups.
